Work of Art

art [aart]
noun (plural arts)
beautiful objects: beautiful or thought-provoking
works produced through creative activity
beau·ty [bytee]
(plural beau·ties)
noun
pleasing and impressive qualities of something: the
combination of qualities that make something pleasing and impressive to look
at, listen to, touch, smell, or taste
Beauty and Art. Art and Beauty.
The two seem in lined. There is art in beauty,
and there is beauty in art.
Artworks are well appreciated by many. Some see
the first beautiful. Some think the latter is the best. Some see eye-to-eye,
some others do not. Some criticize, some recognize. Some hate, some love. Some
judge by the way the artwork looks- it’s too plain, or it’s too much. The lines
don’t match, or the strokes are divine. Some evaluate the artwork by its hidden
message- this art speaks to me, or this art depicts so much hate.
As to all things in life, nothing is perfect.
We are all created beautiful. We are all like
artworks, different from one other. Each of us possesses something unique that
the other does not. The only problem is we also differ from one another’s point
of view. We may be beautiful to some, while to others- we are not. Like
artworks, we cannot please everyone. Pleasing everyone is not really
impossible, but it does take a lot of time and effort.
“I am a work of ART.
b e a u t i f u l in every
i m p e r f e c t way.”
As being “works of
art”, we also are not perfect. Take me for example. Physically, I do not have
everything. I do not have the ‘perfect’ nose. I do not have the ‘perfect’ set
of teeth. Emotionally, I’m weak. I’m sensitive, to times that even I think I’m
reacting too much. I’m full of flaws, inside and out. But I learn to cope with
what I do have. I have big, bold eyes. I have long legs, and a friendly smile.
I am kind-hearted, responsible, and wise. I do not go for things that shout
attention. I am simple girl, with simple dreams, living in a simple world- and
that’s all I want to be, for I am a work of art- Beautiful in every imperfect
way.
So let us not put ourselves down with the things
we know we don’t have. Instead, let us focus our attention to the things that
we do. Let us make the best of what God has given us, for to him, we are his Perfect
Creatures.*
